Every four years, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) are required to review the metropolitan transportation planning process conducted by the Merrimack Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority, and its local municipal partners in order to certify that they are carrying out the process in accordance with all applicable Federal requirements.
