Merrimack Valley Communities Receive MVP Resiliency Funding
The Baker-Polito administration announced more MVP Planning & Action Grant funding to Massachusetts cities and towns. In the Merrimack Valley, Haverhill, Lawrence, Newburyport and Salisbury received funding to implement priority action projects identified by resiliency planning.
The Merrimack – River at Risk Virtual Movie Night
On August 26th, the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC) and Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG), co-hosted a screening of “The Merrimack- River at Risk” a new documentary film by renowned filmmaker Jerry Monkman, and produced by the Society for the Protection of NH Forests. For those who missed this showing, the Merrimack River Watershed Council will be hosting a screening on September 24th at 7 p.m.

Merrmack Valley Receives Green Communities Grants
The Baker-Polito administration recently awarded $13 million in Green Communities Grants to Massachusetts cities and towns. In the Merrimack Valley, Andover, Boxford, Merrimac, Newburyport, North Andover and West Newbury received awards to fund clean energy projects.
