MVPC is delighted to announce that we have been selected for the 2023 Municipal Cyber Security Awareness Grant Program. Dedicated to delivering cybersecurity training, threat simulations and protocol assessments and administered by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Technology Services and Security this program ensures that municipalities have the tools needed to address the growing cybersecurity threats across the Commonwealth.

Part of this half year long training will include simulated threats such as phishing emails and dedicated staff curriculums to educate and encourage employees to follow cyber security protocols.

MVPC’s GIS/IT Program Manager, Steve Lopez applied on behalf of MVPC at the end of 2022 with the goal of strengthening MVPC’s cyber security protocols.  As we continue to rely on digital data and web based applications to support our member communities planning efforts, data and system security is more important than ever.
