Join the Town of Andover for their Merrimack River Cleanup Day!

Help keep the Merrimack River beautiful! The Town of Andover Conservation Department invites you to join them on Saturday, August 23rd, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM for a community cleanup of the Merrimack River.

Canoe/Kayak Cleanup

• Location: Meet the Andover Team at the new Merrimack Conservation Area (behind Greater Lawrence Technical School – enter between 53 & 59 River Road, follow the driveway to the riverside parking area).
• Bring your own canoe or kayak and help collect litter along the riverbanks.
• The Town will provide thick trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbers.
• Personal flotation devices required.
• Medium to experienced paddlers only (river can be challenging for beginners).

Land-Based Cleanup

Prefer to stay on shore? Meet us at 15 Launching Road, Andover to collect trash along the riverbanks by foot.

What to Bring:

• Water
• Reusable, puncture proof gloves
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray
• Hand sanitizer
• Sunglasses
• And (if paddling) a life jacket

What to Wear:

• Closed-toe shoes
• Boots for mud
• Clothes that can handle branches/prickers
• Hat for sun protection
