Who We Are

The Merrimack River Collaborative (MRC) is composed of municipal officials, state legislators, and subject matter experts, spearheading the improvement of water quality and the revitalization of the Merrimack River. Led by the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC), the Merrimack River Watershed Council (MRWC), and the Northern Essex Council of Governments (NMCOG), and staffed by partners including Senator Bruce Tarr’s office, Representatives Dawne Shand and Ryan Hamilton’s offices, Mayor Sean Reardon, and the Alliance of Climate and Environmental Stewards (ACES).

Our Communities

The MRC represents the communities from the headwaters in Franklin, NH, all along the Merrimack River watershed to the mouth of the river in Salisbury and Newburyport, MA. The MRC has been seeking to expand it’s communities across the border into New Hampshire.
