The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission is excited to announce that on May 20th, Congresswoman Lori Trahan along with Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward J. Markey unveiled a significant allocation of $8,000,000 from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for Brownfield clean-up projects. This funding is earmarked for vital Brownfield clean-up endeavors poised to enhance various communities within the region.
The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission is set to receive $1,000,000 in supplemental revolving loan funding to bolster various clean-up endeavors throughout the Valley. This financial boost complements the $3,195,000 in EPA funds granted to the Commission to date for this work. The Commission will continue to use this funding to promote the cleanup and reuse of Brownfields properties within the region to breathe new life into dilapidated spaces by establishing new multi-family housing and mixed-use developments, urban green areas, and business spaces.
