The Baker-Polito administration announced $11.1 million in Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Planning and Action Grant funding to Massachusetts cities and towns. In the Merrimack Valley, Haverhill, Lawrence, Newburyport and Salisbury received action grant awards to implement priority action projects identified through resiliency planning workshops. Currently, all Merrimack Valley communities have received grants to complete the MVP Planning process to identify key climate-related hazards, vulnerabilities and strengths, develop adaptation actions, and prioritize next steps. MVPC is excited to facilitate or participate in almost all of these workshops.
