Am end m en ts/Adjustm ents to MVMPO ’s FFY 202 2 Unified Planning Work Program

(UPWP)

At its meeting of June 22, 2022, The Merrimack Valley MPO released Amendment
#2 and a series of task adjustments to its FFY 2022 UPWP. These are described below:

South Main Street/Boston Road Intersection Road Safety Audit in Haverhill

MVPC proposed to undertake a Road Safety Audit (RSA) at this intersection in
2022. However, MassDOT conducted an RSA at this location soon after the MVMPO endorsed its FFY 2022 in June 2021. Since this RSA has been completed, the MVMPO is proposing eliminating this task from its FFY 2022 UPWP. As this is the removal of a task from the document, an amendment to the region’s FFY
2022 UPWP Is required.

Adjustments

The funding from the South Main Street/Boston Road Intersection RSA as well as funding reductions in the MPO’s Stormwater Management, Climate Change, and Regional Transportation Security tasks will be used to supplement funding in five tasks where the level of effort has increased beyond what was originally anticipated when the MPO’s FFY 2022 was developed back in the Spring of 2021. These five tasks are Program Management and Support, Public Participation Process, Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning, and the Safety Monitoring System. The table below shows the proposed changes to all
tasks included in this proposed amendment and the proposed task adjustments:
